Party Attire
We kindly ask guests to dress in formal garden attire.
Think elegant outfits suited for an outdoor setting—midi dresses, dressy jumpsuits, or suits and blazers in light, seasonal fabrics. To complement the natural surroundings, we suggest earth tones, golden hour colors, muted florals, and whimsical fabrics. Feel free to have fun with subtle fantasy or western-inspired touches.
The celebration will take place outdoors on mostly uneven gravel and dirt. Please choose comfortable, outdoor-appropriate shoes. Tall heels are not recommended, and flats are encouraged, especially for the evening activities.
Days may be warm and evenings can become cool,
so bringing a light layer is a good idea.
Also, when choosing attire, please keep in mind that we will
be gathering around a campfire later in the night.

- Oversized t-shirts or blouses
- Natural materials
Linen and cotton; avoid polyesters.
- Airism! (Uniqlo)
It's perfect for humid weather
They make thin undershorts that are perfect for under skirts, shirts/tops, pants, etc.
Our suggestion is to make a stop at the big Uniqlo Shinjuku Flagship store and pick up some basics as soon as you get here.
Your thighs will thank you for it.
- Umbrella or rain jacket
Nearly every konbini (convenience store) sells these summer essentials you should pick up when you get here.
- Small sweat towels
They are also useful to dry your hands after washing them. Most bathrooms don't have paper towels.
- Cooling patches and sprays
- Sunscreen
Biore, Anessa, Skin Aqua are best. (Just watch for 'glow' or 'tinted' products as some have makeup in them)
- Aquarius or Pocari Sweat
Pocari Sweat Jelly for fast hydration.
-A little pack of Band-Aids
Carry some around if you're not used to a lot of walking around.
- A slim crossbody bag or small backpack.
Uniqlo also carries some good, cheap options, too. You'll end up carrying around more things than you think, including your trash.
Don't bust out your brand-new shoes for this trip. Wear something comfortable and tried-and-true.
If you are buying new walking shoes, really break those boys in before you bring them.
If you don't find your socks sufficient while you're out and about, you can always stop by a Lawson and pick up a pair of the cult-favorite, konbini socks.
- Rechargeable, personal, hand fan
I promise you won't look like a dork. Everyone uses them here.
Here's our recommended essentials for Tokyo weather and city exploring.
